The Wire & Cable Manufacturers' Alliance was established in June 2004, as the successor organization to the Wire & Cable Clubs of America.

 WCMA continues, and has added to, the activities of the Clubs, which began hosting its business and social gatherings in the early 1980's, under the direction of the late Dick and Harriet Callahan, publishers of Wire Industry News.

The Wire & Cable Manufacturers’ Alliance is a Connecticut non-stock corporation, incorporated in August 2005 as a non-profit business league.

WCMA is governed by a member- elected Board of Directors.

Daily operations, including membership, finances and events, are managed by an Executive Director, Deb Mathiasen.
